Wooly Bison Interview+Giveaway

Seattle local, Wooly Bison has been honing her designing and sewing skills since 2003 and she’s been to Urban Craft Uprising twice before this summer show. The quality of her bags is impeccable and they are super cute to boot! I am absolutely swooning over these! At her booth she’ll be sharing the step-by-step process of how she puts her bags together in the form of a book she’s working on. Very Cool! Plus she has an awesome recycled wool wallet that she is offering to one lucky reader who might need a Wooly Bison bag to put it in!

Here’s a little more from Wooly Bison…

What sets your company apart from others who offer similar products? Practically everything I sell is completely one-of-a-kind. Since the fabric is recycled from clothing and jackets, you can only get so much material out of it. If you see something you like, better grab it!

What do you like best about crafting/creating your product? I love that everything is different, so it's fun to choose what sort of lining and colors for snaps/buttons will look good for each thing.

What kind of snacks will you have in your booth to survive the long but exciting hours of Urban Craft Uprising? I have a magic thermos that keeps things cold ALL DAY, so lots of iced tea, Cliff bars, chocolate (sorry to sound like a stereotype), dried mangos, and I always bring a good sandwich. All of the basic food groups, of course!

Mmmm sandwiches, sounds good to me!

Leave a comment below for the fantastic wallet giveaway. Winners will be announced tomorrow!

Wooly Bison

UCU- What is your business and when did it form?

For Wooly Bison, I make satchels and other things out of recycled jackets and other pieces of wool that are looking for a new gig. It started it up as a way to make extra money and be around the smell of steamed wool, and now it's become the perfect excuse to go thrift shopping in the middle of the week!

UCU- If you could have a super power what would it be?

WB- Being able to freeze time sounds pretty appealing...

UCU- Favorite holiday memory?

WB- Couldn't pin-point a moment exactly, but I will say the best memories involve snow and eating my grammy's delicious, buttery Lincoln Potatoes.

UCU- Will you have a special $5 item for UCU's anniversary?

WB- I will have things with a "special $5" discount.

UCU- Got any new items you will be showcasing at the show?

WB- It's all new stuff! (The magic of one-off bags.) But I have found a few especially wonderful jackets that will complete their metamorphosis by showtime.
