Tender Loving Empire

UCU- What is your business and when did it form?

TLE- Tender Loving Empire is a handmade consignment boutique, record label, and custom screenprinter based in beautiful Portland, OR. We also have our own line of Tshirts and Hoodies, which we will be showcasing at Urban Craft Uprising, in addition to our hand-printed collection of music. We started our business casually in 2007 with the release of my husband's album, but it's been a full time job for 2 1/2 years.

UCU- If you could have a super power what would it be?

TLE- Definitely teleportation! There's too many people we love scattered around the globe and too many places we'd like to travel some day...if we could figure out how to bring instruments along, it'd also make touring way easier!

UCU- Favorite holiday memory?

TLE- We love going to Colorado to visit family and play in the snow for the holidays. There's always some fun cross-country skiing or snow-mobile adventure that makes a great holiday memory.

UCU- Will you have a special $5 item for UCU's anniversary?

TLE- Yes! We will have five dollar compilations that feature tracks from all the bands on the Tender Loving Empire Record Label and TONS MORE! 2 disks! 43 bands! Normally $8! Hand Silkscreened with tender love on recyclable packaging! Good music is the perfect stocking stuffer!

UCU- Got any new items you will be showcasing at the show?

TLE- We're really excited to bring 4 brand new tshirt designs that will be perfect for any music or art appreciating teen, 20-something, 30-something on your shopping list, a brand new hoodie to keep your loved ones warm, and for the first time in our line, and a screenprinted cardigan!
